TMJ Relief

Why Is My Jaw Clicking?

Dr. Milan Modi helps people in Marietta, East Cobb, GA with TMJ and/or associated jaw pain. We will often times see that when the Upper Cervical spine (C1 & C2) are counter-rotated, due to minor or major trauma/injury, the TMJ may become compromised. A small, dime size disc covers the jaw head. Due to a plethora of reasons, the disc in the jaw may slip, adding to TMJD. Certain structures in the upper neck compromise the strength and integrity of the jaw. In turn, we will see that our client ends up having TMJ problems soon or later.

A compromised TMJ often times results in clicking, popping, and/or painful movements when opening or closing the jaw. You may even see severe deviation of the jaw when you open or close it. In severe cases, the jaw may be left stuck open. At East Cobb Upper Cervical Spine Clinics, we believe in a multi-disciplinary approach.
